Road Construction on the way

There is a long-held, unique tradition among Indonesian Muslims who have left their hometowns for work or other purposes. They always return home to celebrate Idul Fitri, an annual ritual popularly known as mudik.

 This years 2012 Lebaran or 1433 Hijriah on arabic calender is my first "mudik" without facing Road Construction on Pantura (the North Roadway of Java), at least Jakarta - Cirebon (My Wife Hometown) on roughly 250 km clean from any road construction viewing. My Brother who finished Jakarta - Solo roughly 480 km "mudik" trip also reported me same things, all the road now is smooth as silk :)

This experience quite surprising for me, because as I remember since I was 10 Years old. I never "mudik" without seeing Road Construction, and the congested roads between my residence and my hometowns is mainly cause by this, beside the vehicle volume also increase rapidly.

When I see Road construction I always mumbling " other country is busy to get to the moon or even mars, but we are here stuck on fixing the road ? can we make good quality road that can resist for long time ? come on !!"

The government said that this is usual yearly maintenance, but for me yeah you make it yearly for your profit and intentionally make it on poor quality, why you not build superb quality road at once and the road can resist for 3 or 4 years. and often it not finish until the peak time of "mudik" movement during H-3 until H+3. 

But all viewing, mumbling and frustrating felling are gone this year, there is no Road Construction at all during "mudik" Trip. Now I wondering why it happen? why just happen this year ? the answer is (my version answers) nowadays all information is easily spread on a second by Social Media (Facebook, Twitter) CCTV is watching 24 hour traffic, every National TV broadcasting the news every time. all this situation give a related department a pressure to deliver the best, or bad situation will easily blown up.
